BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Just thought I'd post a few more pics of Nova......starting to think she may be a he with how thick the head and neck are getting haven't seen any plugs yet though.....any guesses?

Not the best with gender guesses, though I might lean towards male as well.

Nova is gorgeous. Fantastic name for him.

However, the first thing that struck me was that he appears to be quite skinny. What's the story on him? Where's he from, how long have you had him, is he eating well, pooping normally, does he have clean water all the time? If your husbandry is all up to par and he's not beefing up, please consider testing him for internal parasites. It could also just be these particular photos are bad, but he looks somewhat sickly to me.

He is beautiful but i agree with Fatal, something just doesnt look right when i look at him/her in those photos. Has he/she visited a herp vet lately?

He is beefing up quite a bit actually, eating and pooping regularly and poops have been normal. I've had him for a little less than a month. The woman who I got him from said he was a picky eater which he definitely is not the only thing he will not touch is anything alive lol. He's been eating a diet of snails, hard boiled eggs, canned grain free cat or dog food (usually weruva or wellness), various fruits and veggies (usually organic veggie baby food or other puréed veggies). Fecals came back clear so I'm pretty sure It was just a case of neglect he was born in jan 2012 so maybe that could have something to do with his size? this is my first bts so anything I could be doing to beef him up more please let me know!

Sorry I got Nova at the end of November so I have had him a little over a month now.

It sounds like you're doing a fantastic job with him then You've already covered your bases, and if he's beefing up that's great. Keep up the great work!

I'm glad hes gaining weight, but a fecal test is never ever a bad thing to do, just because
