Perdita the shingleback

Postby Lea » Tue Jan 01, 2013 2:28 am

Perdita shed today and I missed the whole thing, she did it so quickly! She didn't even have her feet on, which the shingles often do after shedding.

Anyway, she looks gorgeous and her colours look even more beautiful than usual, so I couldn't resist taking a few pictures of her pretty freckled face. They're taken on my iPhone, so not as vivid as the real girl, but not too bad.

How beautiful! I love how well the light and dark colors contrast each other, and how speckled she is!

GORGEOUS! I love how shingles shed so quickly! Wish I could have one, maybe someday when I'm older :) Looks like a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, with all the black n' yellow on her!
Love your life! God only knows how long it will last! :)

Aww, Jason, I'd love to have oodles of banana shingles!

Thank you, everyone. Yes, she sure is a perdi little girl!

Pip, she was named after a character in A Winter's Tale, along with her mum, Hermione.

Gorgeous skink!

I, too, like her name; A Winter's Tale doesn't get as much fanfare as most of the W.S. corpus, but it is a wonderfully peculiar play. One of my favorites to teach.

Cheers,

David

The yellow is very pronounced after the shed, contrasting beautifully with the black. It's hard not to like a black and yellow bluey. :ohyes:

It's 41 degrees today. I wanted to take more pictures with my camera, but it's too darn hot and they are all burrowed deep in the cool dirt. Oh, we'll, there's always tomorrow.

She has freckly eyes, too, which don't really show with the iPhone pictures, so I'll try and get some clear ones with the camera when it cools down later in the week.
