When will my blueys change color?

Just got 2 IJ yearlings and was wondering how long it should take for them to grow out of their brown? If that is even how it works hahaha

Typically they don't change colors as they age. They may darken to lighten with age, but you can get an idea of what they will look like shortly after birth and by looking at parents. I'm afraid the colors they are now will be their permanent coloring

The species that change the most would be the gigas species, IMO. Indos, meraukes, and keis. Tannies change quite a bit as well. I don't notice much change with IJ, northerns, easterns, etc.

Newborns don't show their true colors until about their third shed counting the one that occurs within a day or so after birth.

Kimberley norrherns change color dramaticlly as they grow,starting out looking like a normal northern then ending up looking nothing like a typical northern
