If you want skinks running around your yard...

If you want skinks everywhere in your yard, use tree mulch. Recently put some tree mulch down in the yard and every day ive seen that many garden skinks and one baby bluey sun baking on it. They seem to love it. So far today ive seen 6 garden skinks enjoying it and running through and into it.

I want skinks in my yard. Except I don't have a yard...or live anywhere near bluey territory...

i just bought a ton of tree mulch for my christmas money and placed in my backyard - i guess all i have to do now is to wait :D

Well, the lil bluey I put up before in another post was the blue tongue in the mulch, ill add a picture again :) and the other pic is one of the little garden skinks my partner is holding, they are EVERYWHERE. So far only seen the one bluey though. wonder where the rest of the babies went to...

This didn't work at all. I threw all my old mulch into the yard and waited. Later I dug up the area with a shovel. No skinks, just snow. I feel gypped.

LOL, snow. well, wonder what the problem was :P The mulch gets nice and hot so they enjoy basking on it. when you walk past a pile all you can hear are shuffles and scrambling critters :)

If u have and lawn and mow it,make a grass clipping compost pile,come winter u may get a few use it to over winter in,easterns seem to love it more because of the heat it holds,even on cold sunny days in winter,a snake relocator friend of mine often gets call outs for snakes using compost piles,but ends up being mostly eastern and blotched blueys

Also, my general area is popular for reptiles. Often see blueys, garden skinks and snakes. Snakes love the next door neighbours cement back porch. Seen a tiger/s snake basking there a few times since moving here 2 years ago. Also found a very flattened bluey on the road yesterday :( poor thing. Was a biggen too :(
