Is it normal for a BTS to sneeze a lot?

Postby JonghyunTheSkink » Mon Dec 17, 2012 6:10 pm

My Indo Jonghyun has sneezed a couple times and I didn't know if I should be concerned or not. He's sneezing quite a bit today but I think it's because I gave him a bath. So I was wondering if it is normal for a BTS to sneeze?

they quite often do to get substrate or in your case probably water out from their nostrils. no need to be concerned unless you see crustiness or fluidy substances come out apart from water

I know this is late but I am glad to know that his sneezing isn't a problem! I also found out that he started to shed a few days back. Now he's back to his normal colors~

Yeah they tend to change colour or go a tad dull just before shedding, then once they have shed they look all pretty, shiny and new again lol.

Should I help my skink get the dead skin off or let him be?

Unless your skink is having troubles with shedding (stuck shed), then you shouldn't help that much. He can most likely get it off on his own, and otherwise, you can just give him a dip in a warm bath and it should come right off. Be careful in choosing to help by peeling, though, because if you do, it can easily injure any reptile by exposing raw, pinkish and tender scales.
