BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Well hello everyone,

My almost 3 month old Northern BTS came in this morning (born 9/10). Ordered him/her from Bonita Galas, was very pleased with the transaction. She was more than willing to help accommodate my busy schedule (full time student who works 25 hours a week), and got my little guy/gal here safe and sound.

I have been eagerly awaiting my Northerns arrival and am beyond excited that it's finally here! Over the past week or so I've been checking temps and humidity making sure everything was perfect for when it got here.

My baby was SUPER unhappy when he/she got here, I would be too if I was bouncing around in a box overnight! I snapped a few pictures before it disappeared into one of it's new hides. He/she will need a few days to settle in. I whipped up my first skink meal today, consisting of Wellness brand dog food (chicken and sweet potato), collard greens, and spaghetti squash. I have some blueberries I will offer once he is out and about a bit more. I've offered food, but he/she hasn't taken interest in it yet.

If any of you veterans out there have any guesses on sex, or if anyone has some suggestions on names, I'd love to hear them!

Nice looking northern,looks in great shape,they often can be a bit cranky after shipping,plus add to that being in new surrounds

temps are perfect, but i havent seen the little fella since wednesday. s/he is just burrowed in the aspen bedding! i figure i will give it a couple more days before i try handling.

Yea most people wait at least a week for them to settle in, some take more time also, so don't be worried if s/he is nervous for a while. Very cute and nice setup :] although if i had to change something i'd get rid of the huge rock (unless you actually see your bluey climbing on it, but otherwise it seems like it'd just be blocking space that your bluey could otherwise use) I'd probably replace it with a nice flat one like a piece of slate would be perfect to bask on. What I do with my basking area is i put two rocks under on each side of a flat one so there is a space to crawl under the basking rock and hide too

this is actually something i want do to! i live in arizona, so flagstone is rather abundant here. im keeping my eyes open for a nice flat piece
