Stacks on?

Hey!
So Im new to the forums and what not a better way to start then with a question?

So the story is i have an outdoor enclosure for my skinks and i have had it for a while now

Well anyhow today i went out to check on them all and there all piled in the same spot all stacked up on top of each other, It was like a Pyramid of Blueys!
The area of the outdoor enclosure is Massive!

I'd Be guessing Bigger then 20 Meters in length and about 5 Meters in width.
So plenty of room...
The reason why there is a mix of bluey's is because i wanted to make it feel as natural as possible like if they were in the wild
If anyone is wondering we have Shingle-backs,Alpine blotchies,Northerns at the moment in there although im hoping to add more

So None the less... My question is why do they all pile on the one spot?
I thought it was quite cute and funny

You have lowlands blotchies in there to ,welcome to the forum

What part of australia are u from,only asking as u have stumpies and northerns in with them?an odd combo as from different climate zones

My lot do the same thing,its usually in the same spot,i think its part the spot holding a good temp plus part using each other to hold there warmth

Ahh! So it's not just me
And about all the different Bluey's
I have been collecting them for a few years now...
we easily have 40+ Bluey's
See the problem is ive had friends who just didn't want them no more , so they all got hand balled onto me I kinda had a hard time turning them down as too the addiction with the Bluey's.
most of my mates kinda push towards me the fact that if i don't take them they will be released into the wild >_< so the place kinda becomes a bluey nursery in the end

Are u sure u have northerns,im thinking perhaps easterns if they are kept outside,bit chilly for northerns here

I actually saw your pic and thought it was one of mine lol,stacks on in the grass with blotchies

How long have u had stumpies outside?
Any issues?

A fellow melbournite,im sort of similar,but get adults back i gave away as bubs or just hold backs so kind of have a few,some say to many,lol

No , Im 100% sure that there are a few northern's in there and they seem fine
The stumpy's have been in there for more then 2 years and i have no issues at all with them
and when my lot like to breed i tend to keep the babies instead of selling them or giving them away :p

Interesting,what area of melb,tempted to try my stumpies outside but to humid here so need to experiment first

Years ago i used to have issues over winter with cold damp with them,but heard a few melb keepers do fine keeping out doors,bottom of mornington peninsula so bit cooler than melb and right on the coast

,maybe if i cover them to keep it dryer,the cold wont phase them,its the cold damp they struggle with

Stumpy looks nice pattern wise,any chance of showing some pics of some stumpies and northerns

Ahhh,thats a nice pale looking rugosa aspera,the bluey is an eastern,green phase,any idea on the stumpys locale,i love its coloring,mine are very dark in comparison,lots of variety in there coloring

Small world,im actually not far from clayton at the moment,so similar climate,have the stumpies bred for you outside

One of the stumpy's had an attempt last summer.
But sadly no luck :/
And yeah they might be eastern's i always seem to get them all mixed up :/
Although im sure we may have 1 or 2 northern's in there

Hi there, I'm in Bendigo, I've got a couple of lowlands you can have. :-)

My Alpines pile up on each other as well in their outdoor enclosure, I think they just find a nice warm spot and when one bluey gets warm they just pile on the warm one to pinch its heat. :-) I have kept Easterns and blotched together but find that the Easterns get too stressed - blotchies are nonchalant to each other except for males at this time of year.

I think sooner or later you are going to have an oversupply problem with the babies. :-)

Yeah , id say they would overflow sometime
But i guess the enclosure will just get larger in size if that's the case
