Critter Condos...good?

Postby financier » Tue Oct 02, 2012 5:30 am

I have my baby in a 20 gl long and have the chance to get a Critter Condo that is 4 x 2 x 2 for an amazing price.
I have always used a rack system or PVC cage for my snakes. So has anyone ever used one?
It has the basking buld installed on the inside. And it has a florescent also( which is on the top and is too far for any UVB to reach floor).
I was thinking of getting it and using a Powersun.

Thanks

If you're talking of the plastic topped plastic cages then I see no reason why not.

Some keepers do keep bluetongues in sweaterbox style rack systems. They do quite well, but providing overhead lighting is difficult. Overhead lighting does seem beneficial, but at the same time many have raised skinks in just ambient lighting.

I got one with my blue tongue and it's a pretty awesome enclosure. It's plenty big and I like how deep the floor is, I use a lot of substrate in some places. The only problem that I've had with it is the lack of ventilation. Right now I'm using a fan while the temperature begins to drop here in Baltimore, MD. Other than that, the sliding doors are real convenient so I do like it.
