Hi my blue tongue is coming tomorrow and I wanted to know if a betty crocker icing lid would work the bts I'm getting was born 6-29-12 Thanks!

Any dish would work, but you'll want to make sure substrate isn't getting on the lid. You may want to find something with a bigger lip to keep substrate out of the food to avoid any ingestion...

You can put their food into pretty much anything that they can access easily and that keeps their substrate out of their food, but I'd use something heavy so that the little guy doesnt tip it over too easily I hope you put up some photos of him/her

Agreed, they will definitely tip over anything that isn't heavy. My skink always tips over his water dish even though I put a rock in it *facepalm* Looks like it's getting to be time for a new bowl for him lol.

Terracotta pot saucers are perfect for food dishes and you can use them for water, too, giving your skink a good sturdy dish that they can climb in, if they want. Getting one with a glaze fired finish will make cleaning easy, too. They come in small sizes, usually fairly cheap, so just try your garden centre. As he grows, you can upgrade to bigger saucers and use the smaller one for a pot.
