Newbie

Postby maverickgrl79 » Sun Sep 09, 2012 11:12 pm

hi there, im the newbie lol,
my 11 year old son and i rescued a BTS a year ago. he was 14 inches and you could see his ribs. he was housed on a paper towel in a 10 gallon tank and fed on crickets his entire life. now he is a spoiled brat he is 18 inches long give or take he has a kinky tail. we take him on walks on warm days in his harness lol he loves it! anyway i will get better pics of him up here soon maybe someone can tell me what kind of BTS he is. i just built him his new habitat. it is 5 foot by 2 foot by 2 foot. he loves it. it is made from all reclaimed wood! he loves it in there. it is not completely decorated yet. but it is a start. you can not see it but he has a ramp from his cage to the floor and is free to roam when my son is in his room. my son reads to him everynight and Ozzy seems to know it is bed time when he is finished reading.

Umm, how is he getting close enough to the dogs to lick them? Dogs and skinks do not mix.

Beautiful IJ.

Ozzy is held alot and when he is out of his cage our border collies will come up to see him. never alone always while he is in some ones hands. i would never put any of them in danger. my older female Jade has even stolen one of the feeder mice hoppers for our snakes and tried to nurse it. lol she has been an adopted mamma for rodents birds and kittens. :? :?

My parents had a dog like that, I grew up trying to save injured animals including a baby bird and an injured blue tongue skink, with both, their dog, Tajah would lay right next to me while I was holding them and warn the cats off if they came to close.

My dog also protects my skinks from the local cats. Outdoors she's protective of the reptiles. Indoors she ignores them when I'm around, and points them out to me if they're running loose. Love my dog <3
