Gosh! If his markings weren't so obvious, you'd be hard pushed to believe he was the same skink! He looks great! How old is he now? Do you have some larger photos? It would be nice to see some bigger ones to see him in his full glory. Compared to the string bean he was, he certainly looks to be doing well. More pictures, please!

Well I got him in Feb, I assumed he was a newborn, or close to it, he weighed 11g. He is is over 200g now! So that's about 6 months?
He is really happy and friendly, and likes to be held. Only gets grumpy when I wake him up.
ETA: Oh and that is his enclosure in the background.

Just following up on the permit issue. You do not need one to own a single blue tongue in some states, although, the rules don't apply when obtaining a rescued animal. In SA, you need a permit for every animal obtained from the wild, even as a rescue. It's free to get a rescue permit in SA. It also helps to keep track of injured and sick wildlife in particular areas. I don't know what's happened for you since february, when you got him, but you'll still need to sort out a permit, if you don't have one. An example of how this helps wild populations was an outbreak of conjunctivitis in wild easterns, not too far south from where I used to live. About 90% of the new babies for that year had eye problems, many resulting in blindness and other permanent damage. Informing Fauna Rescue or Parks SA, just helps follow up on these matters and hopefully produce a positive outcome for the wild. If you've had the wrong information regarding rescues, then they allow for that, but knowingly keeping skinks from the wild, can result in a fine.
