Pick up while shedding?

His shed kinda make him look like he has wings down his sides..Can I pick him up while there is loose shed on him? Like in this picture

No but he is coming out a little bit more in front of us and basking

Yes its ok to hold still,when shedding they often come out more because there trying to use objects to help remove the shed

I'm a newbie BTS owner but one of my two guys was shedding this week. He is usually a little cranky and hisses at me a lot. He is generally very wiggly when I hold him. This week toward the end of the shed he has been so mellow, letting me hold him, pet him and scratch him. Also very little hissing! It was almost like he was enjoying it, but who knows. I'm hoping his attitude adjustment will stick!

Its possible. After about 4 days of mine trying to shed and got really dirty I gave mine a quick bath just to clean most of the substrate off him and his shed started falling off even more and when i picked him up to lightly dry him since he is shedding his shed came basically all off except for his feet. But since then he has been very active. I rarely see him in his hide spot. He is on top of his hide spot a lot and practically jumps on his food plate when i put it in his cage. Kind of like a pouncing cat lol

I'm sure you're right Richard! I think they are starting to figure out I am the food lady! It was just interesting timing with the shed!

Mine is a lot more active now but tends to run a little when I try to pick him up.

Running away from encroaching hand is pretty normal,especially with youngsters

I'd say if they are acting very upset when being held during shed you could just leave them be until they are done, but I know mine personally doesn't mind at all. Could be because yours is just young and still nervous as well which will change with time.

You can hold them during shed, but they are probably going to be more grouchy during this time. I only hold mine during a shed if necessary.

So far with my baby Northern she seems to enjoy getting out when she is shedding. She goes mental and rubs against everything like a cat. I might just have an oddball though...
