ID?

Can you guys confirm an ID on this one? Its for sale on my local craigslist for $300, sounds a bit steep! Guy won't budge on the price saying that its a "true Australian locale" which then he called an Eastern? Is this an Eastern? And are Easterns worth $300???

IJ. From Indonesia not Australia. Not worth $300 at all!
Easterns, IMO are worth $300, others may disagree.

Yeah I would agree with ML, that sure looks like an Irian Jaya to me.
I am not sure if the seller meant this specific skink came from Australia, but it is illegal to export reptiles from Australia so I hope that isn't what he meant!
But I also agree that $300 is a bit steep.

That would be an IJ. Can be purchased for ~$75 as a fresh WC, ~$100 for a long-term captive, and ~$125 captive bred in the USA.

Other than the stupid price, it's a nice IJ and looks to be in good condition. The owner is just a fool/jerk.

I got my Merauke off a local buy/sell site much like Craigslist. :P But the difference being that mine was getting rehomed, this guy looks like he is just trying gouge an unaware buyer.

I've gone on craigslist.org in other locations/different state and found some nice reptiles but in my area there has been a couple that i actually reported to the authorities.

From what I know about craigslist you cant sell an animal but you can charge a small rehoming or adoption fee and thats an outrageous rehoming fee. I have never gotten animals from craigslist but I usually get the tanks and supplies that I need if they are in good condition.
