Skinks and strawberry pictures!
Just a few of mine, all looking wonderful! They have been awake a few weeks and taking an interest in their food again after winter. The strawberries were a winner!

These photos are beyond fantastic. I love the lighter colored eyes on the one.
Any idea of their respective localities?

Re: Skinks and strawberry pictures!
Thank you!
Nippy is of the north western river lands of SA, somewhere between Danggali National park and Burra, but he was captive bred. The others are rescues, so I can be more specific. Lava is from the onkaparinga national park and is very typical of the coloration there. I have pictures of her in another thread. Lutea is from the Adelaide hills. The previous owner had her as a wild caught, which is of course illegal, but he had kept her far too long and probably wouldn't survived the wild if i'd released her. The advantage of this to me, was I was able to find out exactly where she was from. I can actually pinpoint the garden she had picked as her territory, back before she was caught! Suunto is from adelaide's western beaches and is again, very typical of the locale coloration found in the sand dunes.
I've only got four shinglebacks, but it's coming up to summer and I usually end up with a couple of extra residents, at least at the start. It seemed the most common time for attacks by cats and dogs, probably due to them still being a little sleepy" and less active.

Oh, that's nippy! His eyes are quite mesmerising, almost a glassy green, in colour. I've seen a few with different eyes, amber-yellows and lighter browns, but, maybe I'm biased, I still think nippy's are the best.

Eee! Great pictures! The flowers and the green grass and strawberries make the photos really 'pop'!
I especially love the picture of Nippy (Or is it Suunto?) dozing with a strawberry right in front of their nose!

So happy to be awake, that they hardly slept all winter! But they always do seem very content and laid back, just generally, anyway. I saw them more this year, probably because it's been relatively mild this winter.
