Today, after much anticipation, my second Aussie animal showed up on my doorstep. (The first being a cockateil)
This is very exciting, I have only ever shipped arachnids before, and I was really eager to see how well she fared- well she fared VERY well and was all hisses out of the bag! She shed in there!! Well, what a weiner. Once I had her out of the bag, she sat in my hand for a moment, which was inside her cage, waiting for her to go on in. It gave me a chance to really appreciate a skink up close. Her little hands clung on to me, it was quite sweet. Then she made her way into the house and... under a ledge, which she began headbutting. Once she realized that she couldn't burrow INTO the wood, she settled for curling up beside it and making herself at home.
She's gapey right now, lots of display... she's very TUFF. I'm SO excited, words cannot express. THANKYOU MEL, SO MUCH! She was well packed and safe, and I just can't say how happy and grateful I am to have found a breeder in Canada, especially with such beautiful Northerns!
I only took a few photos, obviously. Once she's more settled I'll get more.
