Found some rocks in my yard!!!!!!

So I have this big rock pile that I scavenge rocks from, and finally got around to actually digging through it today. Well I found some new rocks a lot bigger than we normally bring in, but were just to awesome to not use. sadly these pictures don't really show the rocks true colors off too well.

Snickers new basking rock. She has a piece of ceramic tile before.









Both of these cages are large and in our living room as displays. Snickers is 5'6" x 2'. Bandits is 4' x 22". We try to make them look as "pretty" as possible, and make them something that people want to see and walk up to.



P.S. Yes I know bandit still has a ugly water dish. We are having trouble finding something we like that fits well in the space.

I love finding things that can be put to good use! How did you clean them before you put them in the tank? They look pretty heavy!

It always means more when you find things for BT enclosures - not to mention the money saved

Many years ago, I started collecting various rocks from construction sites (they were happy to give them to me) - beautiful rocks - at the time had no idea what I was going to use them for - but now finding plenty of ways. Over the years have also collected from neighbors slate rocks - and have used quite a few of them in skeeter's enclosure. I built a "cave" for him putting a pile on each side of a long basking rock - two in one

I also like to change out the rocks - and so does skeeter. Gives him something different to investigate

Normally I boil smaller rocks, but for the large ones we cleaned them bleach diluted in water.

Bandit's says atasuki on the front of it, so I'm assuming that's the brand. Snicker's we bought from a LPS and it doesn't have a name on it. When we bought it we were told a "guy" in Calgary or Lethbridge makes them(forgot where he said).
