Surprisingly, they dont seem to hurt each other too seriously in the wild even when they fight - Such fighting leads to death in captivity because the weaker one has no where to escape to.

Absolutely hilarious watching them run however

ive watched this video many times to remind me of how agile and inventive they truly are. (not to mention how little they may like other skinks)

the only thing funnier then seeing them running is seeing them trying to swim accross a river haha but in reguards to the vid it may look painfull but its nature and its a mutual battle and they both seemed to come out of it fine thankfully

It honestly isnt a rare occurrence - They are always out in the open, especially on verandahs, and who knows, the person could have just had a phone in their pocket or something It can even take them a few minutes to finish their squaring up, plenty of time to go grab a camera if you know what it is they are doing.

I find this really interesting because Coomassie is a Northern (and male at that). Every time I see him, I have really hard time believing he can move that fast. He is a fat and lazy little bugger but such is life in captivity.

I HIGHLY doubt people are starting "skink fighting matches" like chicken fighting lol. It's a natural occurrence, animals do get in quarrels in the wild, and I highly doubt people would go hunting down two skinks then putting them next to each other to fight. If this even did happen 99% of the time the animals would run away from each other, not fight. People ALWAYS have camera's on them nowadays, almost every person has a camera/video camera on their phones since almost all come with one now. Plus if people were intentionally trying to fight them, don't you think they'd enclose them and not let them get away? I don't live in a place with blueys roaming around always, but it's just like when you see birds or squirrels fighting with each other. Neither of these skinks ended up getting hurt badly at all which is good, and at least it wasn't a video of two fighting in a cage where someone is trying to house them together, now THAT would be quite upsetting! But as you can see in the video, one of the blueys just ran away and that was probably the end of it. Many animals will fight over territory, food, etc. in the wild, this was just a natural thing caught on tape.

My guy is still young and only 16 inches, but I've seen him bolt before lol. He waited until I wasn't looking and just sitting there. Right as I turn my head, out of the corner of my eye I see him bolt to go under one of the fish tanks and it was fast! Lol, sneaky little guy. It'd be really funny to see him run far and that fast though!

Coomassie: Its all about motivation. My male is quite the tame little creature who is content to hang limply when handed to people but he went absolutely berserk during breeding time. Amazing to see him run so quickly and attack the females so ferociously. I did a few intros in an open area and it was really hard to keep the skinks under control they ran so fast.
