Meaning of mouth open (yawning)

Occassional, Skeeter will "yawn". No indication that it is an aggressive display - no hissing or back arching etc. There is no particular time that he will do this either.

He is otherwise (besides his occassional wall climbing) very healthy - eats like a pig, drinks often. 6' tank gives him plenty of roaming room and tank temps set according to care sheet.

One thing, when he does yawn, his tongue dosen't stick out like he is eating...if that makes any difference

lizards and snakes yawn too xD perfectly normal.
they also open their mouth while going to the toilet sometimes...

My other herps yawn too. This includes my tortoises. I think they yawn for the same reason you yawn, it feels good.

even my snakes yawn. Its just a yawn
If they are doing it constantly, instead of occasionally, that could be a few things. Something stuck in the mouth, etc.
Once in a while is normal though

Sometimes I stretch or yawn. Hasn't killed me yet

Lissy does this as well occasionally, just opens up and has a huge yawn. Maybe it wakes their brains up a bit as yawning is meant to do for Humans?
