Reptile food for BTS

Hello.. I have been seeing mostly containers of reptile food at the pet stores primarily for bearded dragons. can these foods also be used for BTS?

Definitely not as a staple, IMO. You could probably feed it as a treat in occasion, but otherwise I wouldn't really reccomend it.
They shouldn't really be used as a staple for beardies either, a fresh food dirt is MUCH better for bearded and BTS.
Take a look at se older posts and the food chart to get some ideas on how to have a good, healthy diet for your skink.

I think they could make up a decent portion of your skinks diet safely. It is lower in protein than dog food. It might be a good option for older skinks who do not need as much protein/fat.

its an interesting topic,i used to use it a bit for bearded dragons and water dragons,it made them pooh the color of the pellets

in the bearded dragon manual,they werent overly posative about its use,and recommended it to be used as a portion of a varied diet,i found it useful for something to nibble on between insect feedings until they started eating veg well

I was perusing YouTube one day and a worker from LLL Reptiles was doing a care video on blue tongues and said that they used monitor food, turtle sticks, iguana and bearded dragon bites as the majority of their diet, along with some live insects thrown in for flavor, cycling through the different diet every feeding to give them some variety. There was a few more she listed off that I can't really remember. It might be worth looking into again.

I'm also not sure how reliable anything coming from LLL reptiles would be. Their BOI leaves much to be desired. Not saying its all the people that work for them, but I'm always leery of certain companies when they try and take a definitive stance on something that is so variable and still being worked out. I would also wonder at the fact that their recommendations are a lot of the things they sell. <--mainly this though.
