i saw something cool

litchie was shedding.

he was turning around.

then suddenly he looked at his back leg.

lifted the leg a little.

opened his mouth.

and carefully ate all the loose shed and the more compact shed glove on his foot.

yes he bit his foot. carefully.


now i know why theres always one or two gloves missing (ive been watching my lizard for 2 hours while hes shedding, more or less)

ill post a photo of him fully shed this time. but photo evidence will have to wait till the next time. his other glove on his back leg is also missing but i didnt see if he dropped it casually or did like that XD

havnt seen it in northerns,but have in centralians

I think he must like skinka (ham) too

does the centralians learn it from somewhere or they just find the shed on the back legs tasty the first day of shedding?
if i ever get other skinks ill see if they do it too, but ill 'never' see centralians.

ill forever think of litchie as goldmember from austin powers if he continues......

i promise i feed him well. he is not starving.

only seen centralian do it once,it ate quite a few big back bits of skin to,i have a suspicion its a common occurance with some,as not much skin is left with some after a shed

I know some of mine eat pieces of it, sometimes large pieces, because they are all shiny and new, and there is NOT enough skin around the tank to justify a full shed ...aka some of MUST have gotten eaten
