Ever heard of GlobalCaptiveBreeders?

Postby NOP » Sun Apr 22, 2012 7:27 pm

Hello again just a few quick questions. Anyone ever heard of Mitch from GlobalCaptiveBreeders.com? I saw he had an ad on Kingsnake about baby Skinks for sale but they were Yearlings and am looking for something a lil younger he said that he should have some babies sent to him from the farm by the middle of May, and i was just wondering if anyone had ever bought anything from them or has heard any Positive or Negative things about them.
Also from the way he made it sound over the phone they will be very young when i he gets them and if i order one it will be very small and i was just wondering if its still ok to have Aspen Shavings for what may be a newborn skink or if i should use paper towels untill he grows a bit?

ive only heard dodgeyness from them, also farm raised babies wouldnt be babies in may, thats sounds more like when babies would be born in the northern hemisphere

if u look on his website he even has pygmy bluetongues listed, funny thing is they arent captive anywhere in the world but a zoo in australia and the s,a museum, from what ive seen most of what he sells is imported wild collected stuff,so globalcaptivebreeders is a funny name

id personally hang out a little and buy a genuine captive bred specimen, theres quite a few breeders with various species, and yes u can use aspen with juvies

He's a very sketchy guy. He was apparently selling super-rare skinks but would not provide any proof. Complaint threads about him go back for years. At best he's a bad importer, at worst he's a smuggler and/or liar.

There are tons and tons of amazing options for getting a baby, don't give money to someone who doesn't care about the animals or the people he works with.

It's so hard to wait, but when you're holding your skink, or when you're watching it grow up, all the time waiting is totally forgotten. I waited over 3 years from learning about BTS before I finally got my first. They're worth waiting for <3

No, actually it says they were hatched in 2011, so they are probably just smaller than the more common "live born" blueys. 8)
