Concerned about my Bluey

Hi,

I have had my Irian Jaya for over two years now and he has been great! We moved about two weeks ago and although he was upset and took some time to settle he was getting better. last week I took him to the vet and we got a clean bill of health. The next day and four days since - my skink hasn't moved! At first we thought that he was just about to shed as he usually has a lowered level of activity at that time, and he turned cloudy. After 2 days he went back to normal color, but didn't shed. When I pick him up he is able to move all of his limbs and there is nothing visible wrong. He is a good weight, and well hydrated as I have water in his tank and spray him regularly. I also feed him regularly and with a varied diet. I am just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this? I am thinking maybe he's still just stressed due to the move and going to the vet, but I'm getting worried as he now hasn't eaten in four days and like I said he hasn't moved more than 2 inches. He has stayed exactly where I put him down after looking at him. If anyone has any tips please share them!!

Thank you

moving them can cause this, new things to get used to,also when did he darken then lighten again color wise?like recent, sometimes they can do that before shedding, then actually shed a week or more later, pythons seem to do it a bit as well,so could explain that

It took my skink about 7 months to really settle in after we had moved him.

also, since your skink is 2 years old (at least) not eating for 4 days is actually the regular in between the meals time :D
i feed once every 6 days, some feed smaller portions twice a week. dont forget, as long as they drink they can manage for a month if very active.

dont they usually go dull and then back to regular colour for a day or two before they shed though?

as the others said he will need tiem to get used to everything new. new house means new view from his terrarium, new smells, much noise from moving stuff and new habits.

keep a good eye on him and be sure to write if anything happens and you feel like you need to ask more.

If he got white and then went back to normal, give it another few days and he will shed. It is totally normal, they whiten, go back to normal colors and then shed several days later. Some of mine are extremely lazy when shedding. I'd bet money on the fact that he will shed in a couple days and go back to completely normal. :D

my skinks tend to go clear and look like they have shed before they actually have. My snakes do that too. Normally its only a day or two after they go clear that they shed :)
I know when mine shed because my skink cages look like they have exploded :)

Some of my skinks get slower during a shed, and hide more, and some dont. Sometimes it just depends on how they are feeling *that* shed. Also, some of my skinks take change a little better than others. Some flip out when i clean their cages, while others can get a whole new everything and be fine, some can be moved upstairs or downstairs and freak out for a few days, others dont seem to care.

I feed my skinks 1x a week with Dubias thrown in 1x a week a few days after feeding day. It seems to be often enough, because most of them if i try to feed them more ignore it. The ones that dont...well lets just say my indo is NOT lithe and limber anymore, hes on his way to being a chunker!
