Just wanted to know how often BTS shed? and how long does it typically take? Also do you have to remove the shed right away?

Re: How often do BTS shed?
Reptiles shed depending on how fast they're growing. So babies may shed every few weeks, while adults shed every few months.
How long it takes varies for each skink. Some skinks seem to just drop it all right away, some take a few days to get it all off.
If the skink is dealing with the shed on it's own you don't need to bother it. However, if after a few days there's still shed on the skink you may want to give it a helping hand. You can gently rub at the shed, or try a lukewarm bath for 15 minutes to see if the shed loosens.
If the skink isn't up for being handled, or if the shed is old, don't panic about getting rid of it right away. It takes a few sheds before it becomes dangerously tight, and it's always much easier and safer to remove stuck shed shortly after a shed happens. During a shed the lizard produces oil to remove the old skin. After a while the oil dries and pretty much glues old shed onto the new skin; a bath might help or you may need to wait until the next shed.
