Meet Cyanide and Happiness-DUW

My new babies got here yesterday and we've been getting to know each other. First up is the male, Cyanide. He is really friendly and he loves superworms. My daughter says he looks like grilled salmon






Then there is Happiness who isn't very happy. She is quite shy but will happily take dubia from the tongs. They both really like mushrooms too.

I just hope they actually turn out to be a pair, they will make beautiful bubs:) They aren't very big yet, Cy is 14" and happy is 12"

Just a brief note on mushrooms. I, along with the majority of Australian keepers, feed mushrooms but keep in mind they are a fungus so in moderation is the key.

Just a brief note on mushrooms. I, along with the majority of Australian keepers, feed mushrooms but keep in mind they are a fungus so in moderation is the key.

Yea, they hold a lot of water and not a ton of nutrients. Mine loves them too, but it's only an occasional treat.

Reasonable source of protein but it's the possibility of mycotoxins if offered too often that makes me a little guarded.

Thanks everyone, I love them too. I'd never actually seen a northern in person before and I'm stunned by how bright they are, especially Cy. Bonita was a great seller to work with, I'd recommend her any day.

I'll go easy on the mushrooms. I just happen to have some for dinner that night so I shared.
