Hi all,
My Northern hasn't eaten for about a month, and I'm starting to get quite worried. He's around a year and nine months old and provided by bluetongueskinks.org's very own Zach. He's always been a good eater and I've never had any major issues, so this is unusual. (I call the bluey a "he" but, to tell the truth, have never had him sexed, so can't say for sure.) Around the same time he stopped eating he became noticeably more active, frequently climbing the walls and appearing overall more restless. There's been no change to his habitat whatsoever.
He also hasn't defecated in a few weeks, which made me think he was impacted. I've given him a few warm soaks and gently massaged his midsection, but nothing. He became stopped up once before, but a few peas and blueberries did the trick. Now he won't touch them. I've tried a variety of foods -- from boiled chicken, to turkey, to cat food, to live meals, to fresh veggies and fruit -- and while he gives them a sniff, he never takes a bite of any of it.
His weight has gone down a bit, but he's still in the healthy range. I have noticed, however, that he's starting to get a bit more sluggish, which is panic-inducing.
Do you guys think is a spring hormonal thing? Am I describing a potentially bigger issue?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: One month without eating
is it cool in your neck of the woods, outdoors i mean, they can pick that up,might explain the not eating,or perhaps it is male, sometimes they get finicky during the mating period, and arent super interested in food, and yes even if its the only animal you own
normally if warm enough they will eat,the no pooping is normal,if not eating, nothing to poop, the sluggish sounds possably temps arent quite warm enough,do u know what temps he has
could be any number of things,im just guessing and throwing up a couple of possabilities

Re: One month without eating
Sounds like Spring-fever. I have several skinks who haven't eaten since waking up a month ago. They'll come around.
