next blotchy is dropping bubs(pics)

got a text from my lizard sitting sister ,well a few texts,first was she found a bub in the outside cage,2nd msg was and a 2nd,another msg and a 3rd,she had wanted to see them being born,so fingers crossed she has,im thinking its the big vic alpine thats in my avatar,sis is dropping another of my sisters kids off somewhere,so will call me soon,she took a pox pic,6 babies in a tub from a distance,so ill get her to send some better shots so i can put them up here,and get more details from her,its warmer here today,so figured they would start dropping,should be a cpl more before long to

thanks mate,getting pics sent now,might not be from the big vic alpine after all,1 bub looks alot like my nsw alpine male,hmmm,didnt see him mate

hmm a few look very lowlands and sis found 5 on that side,maybe 2 have dropped,maybe i missed the cross being gravid,hmmmm,hate being away from them,think ill pop down and see what the hecks going on,lol

2 look alpine,4 look lowlands apparently says sis,its only an hour or so so might go for a drive,tootles

ahh,hectic couple of hours,sis,s pics sucked,lol,big vic alpine lass dropped 5 bubs,well that we could find,she found 2 more on my way down and i managed to find another when i got there,there bloody huge,i thought the bluemountains bubs were sizable when they dropped recently,i got pics so will chuck them up shortly

the lowlands are dropping to,which is odd,very early for them,last 8 years they were always up to a month after the alpines,found 4 so far,a fair bit smaller than the vic alpine bubs,unfortunatly one died,possably mobbed by the water dragons in that cage,but not sure,could be that bloat thing again or maybe born weak,sis said it was gasping and weak when she found it,and died not long after finding it,still had shed on it,so not sure,now looks like 2 lowlands have dropped,but only 4 bubs were found,so may be more still running about,i wasnt sure on either of these 2 lowlands being gravid,well one i wasnt sure was even female,lol,both first timers,so possable one had slugs to

anyways enough blab,i got pics of both lots,plus some of both lots together,and even a comparison with one of each of todays litters with a bluemountains juvie from 2 weeks ago,so will up load those

the vic lowlands plus a pic with a vic alpine alongside to show size difference,look at that fat lowlands,the differences in those 3 make me think from the 2 different lowlands lasses that appear to have dropped

Can I ask you a question? Are the coastal Blotchies(from either down Frankston way or Anglesea ) , are they different in average adult size when compared to Blotchies from surburban Melbourne or nearby ranges?

I ask cause when down your way over xmas , I saw a few blotchies on the coast and they all were small(200mm SVL ) . I also saw a road killed specimen up near Healesville which was much bigger. Obviously the NSW alpines get huge , just wondering whether they all get larger as you go north.

thanks rory,and no need to apoligise,i havnt seen to many from angelsea,but think size wise is similar with melb type ones,where i am is coastal to,probably similar distance from melb to angelsea,seen alot up around gippsland to,i find it the same,mostly see young ones to sub adult size,in oct/november u see alot of decent sized males about,females seem patchy,but its because they are more away from civilisation compared to easterns,over the years ive seen some whoppers,but on average they appear smaller over all,ive seen enough solid lowlands though to know they get alot bigger than the average u see,but yeah no where near the average of some of those alpine forms,the vic highlands form is intermediate between the 2,the females get quite large,the males seem similar to vic lowlands size wise,but slightly larger if that makes sense

That Blue Mountains one is huge in comparison with the others. Do you think it may be something in the water here?
