How big do Northern Blueys get ?
How long do they live in captivity and in the wild ?
My kids are bringing Larry and Pekoe to a science fair

. I will post pictures after . This is the kids first outing with their pets . I think I will need a new tub to transport Larry and Pekoe

Northerns have been reported to reach nearly 30", although I have never seen confirmation of a skink being even close to that. The longest northern I have ever seen in person was 24 3/4". I think that is about as long as they actually get. They can weigh over a kilogram.
I have not heard of anyone keeping an individual animal for over about 15, but some of these were acquired as adults. It is believed by most that they will easily live 20 years in captivity, and probably longer. They are probably capable of living just as long in the wild, although their average life span is probably much less due to predators and other hazards.
