Hmm, apart from the pinkish bit, which I would say surprises me that anything that colour would be present, that look like one hell off a urate with just a smidgen of poop! It it thick and white and although longggggggg, still looks more like urate than the slight transparent appearance of sperm plugs.
You may want to check his diet isn't too rich in purines/uric acid

Really ? Larry's never had a urate or poo that looks like that . purines / uric acid ? What foods would you find that in ? He eats dog food , squash , green leaf veg and the odd fruit . Larry also had quite the bulge at the top of the tail before this came out .

Ya, that looks like an odd urate, not a sperm plug. Has he eaten anything strange recently? If it doesn't happen again I wouldn't worry about it.

No he's only eaten dogfood mixed with squash , oraganic green char and some turkey . Nothing strange ...... I hope he's ok . I did change around his cage and had a very thick rock as a basking stone instead of the black tile . I don't think the temps for the past 2 days were very good (between 85-91) Now I am trying the tile above the rock . Larry loves the hiding around the rock . I think the temps are too hot now (99 -107)so I am switching back to the way it was with the black tile . I was really hoping it was a sperm plug . I've never seen urate like that from my skinks

Don't worry - I'm sure he is fine. An odd poop or urate is nothing to worry about. Enclosure looks great, maybe you can stack a couple tiles on top of each other to bump up the temps from 91 a bit.

I will post some tomorrow . I just love the rock and tile . Larry loves hiding in there . What is the warmest temperature for a northern ? Most of the day the temp is around 103 but by the end of the day it's around 107

I have fairly large basking areas and so for my Northerns the hottest part can get up to 107 / 110 kind of range depending on the house temperature, but most of the area ranges from 90-100. Because my basking spots are quite large I don't worry about it being a bit too hot directly under the lamp at times because they can pick and choose where they bask. I'm sure the areas not directly under the lamp are a bit cooler for Larry, so he should be able to find a good temperature. 107 isn't too bad, you might want to dim it a bit in the summer though if the house heats up. If it is just a regular heat bulb you can buy a dimmer at a hardware store and that is a really easy fix.

The rock and tile is gorgeous, can't wait to see the pics of the blueys!!

yeah other parts aren't as hot . The basking spot is a big slate tile . Thanks i wont worry . i want to see more of sammy . Are we the only ones with siblings from mel on this site

Sam is about to shed, so I'll try and get some new ones after that. I'm also getting baby QD (needs a name!) soon, so I'll have two siblings as well. Although if you are planning on getting some of Mel's 2012 babies I don't think I can keep up!
