BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

I have heard that the best thing to detect the temperatures in the cage is the lazer temperature detector things. Until I get one of those, what is the best way to know how hot my basking rock is?

A digital thermometer with probe. Place the probe directly on the basking area and give it at least a hour before reading the temp.

To be very general, put your hand on the rock after it's been under the light a couple hours. It should be fairly warm. If you feel like you need to pull your hand away it's probably too hot.
