BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

so there's this local pet store. I've gone in there previously for supplies only, as they (usually) have a little bit more of a variety than PetCo/PetSmart, etc. would have (in terms of buying items for my sugar gliders, at least). The past couple of times I was in there, I saw a poor adult BTS (an IJ, if I remember correctly), being cooped up in a small 20-30gallon tank. That was a couple visits back, and the store owner was COMPLETELY rude and refused to answer any and all questions about this BTS. The last time I was in there, it had been moved into an even SMALLER 10-20 gallon tank to make room for a bearded dragon to take use of its old viv. So, not only is it being kept in this small cage and I have never seen any food in there (I can only assume they don't feed it adequately), and as you could guess it doesn't look too healthy OR active...but they're trying to charge $400 for it.

I would call animal services.

This site doesn't want to bad mouth specific companies, so I'm editing your post to just read "a pet store". If you have problems you can take it to the board of inquiries (BOI), but we don't want to have threads on here where we are specifically bad mouthing certain companies. It may be warranted, but this isn't the right site to discuss these issues on.

I've had to start a BOI on a HORRIBLE shop near my old house. Please do it. Inform others about the mistreatment of the animals, and hopefully these people will either shape up or go out of business! Unfortunately for me, this particular disgusting pet store is regularly invited to sell at our expos...UGH.
