I have a BTS who has a nose whistle too, my vet says that it is from a build-up of keratin in the nostril. It generally takes care of itself over time, and is nothing to worry about. Just keep an ear on it, make sure it doesn't seem like he's having a hard time breathing.

I'm no expert, but 10 1/2 inches at 3 1/2 months old sounds normal to me :)

If it is just a slight whistle, with no discharge or any kind then I completely agree - it is normal. A couple of mine have something similar. :D

Size sounds fine too - some grow incredibly quickly and will eat everything offered, but it isn't necessarily very healthy for them to be adult sized in 8 months. So no worries about the size- I'm sure he is still bigger than his wild counterparts.

Love Marshall's thick bands! My Merauke had that going on yesturday. I panicked and thought that it must be a respiratory infection or some kind of serious allergy.... Got myself in check 8) and after awhile of handling her the whistling stopped.
