Looky who woke up to bless us with his presence for a day :)

Postby Spindown » Sun Nov 13, 2011 4:11 pm

Guess who woke up for a day during brumation? Broodlord! (my northern). Silly goose. I turned on his light for him so he can have a bask, and then its lights off again. :P

also, can anyone guess his sex? we were told male from previous owners, but never found out if they saw hemipenes, plugs, or if they were just guessing. :)

Thanks!

Boodlord looks more like a brood-mother to me :) Very chunky. I'd definitely put my money on female for that pretty lady <3

I am seeing female, but I'm hesitant to guess - I've been tricked lately! So wait for others to respond, but looks female to me.

Edit: Mel beat me to it. Glad she thinks it is a girl too!

According to Jeff’s latest sexing-lesson (you have to really enunciate the NG when you read that!) Broodlord would be a clear female.

woah, i did NOT expect everyone to be unanimous ;)
So i'll safely assume female lol

Thanks guys!!

So if you put two females together after brumation to behavior sex them, what should happen?
To clarify, i just want to be SURE as possible they are female (not doubting your expertise at all though), i dont want to be sadistic and fight them or anything >D

They shouldn't show any overt interest in each other. They may be huffy and not like having the other get too close.

With a male/female you'd generally see the male perk up and take immediate interest. Probably start stalking the lass. Lady-skink may ward the boy off.

With male/male you're likely to get some really aggressive behaviors. They may or may not start trying to kill each other.
