Blue Tongued Skinks on Reptilechannel.com

Postby Jeff » Tue Nov 01, 2011 8:23 pm

It's fairly rare to see articles in magazines or stories on t.v. about BTS, so I thought it was pretty cool to see them highlighted on Reptilechannel.com. It is basically just a caresheet, but still, someone thought they were worthy to spotlight:

I got that email today, I meant to post it as well. So thanks for doing so. The only thing I can recall that I didnt like is the way the made it sound like the chances of the skinks being able to be kept in pairs was higher than reality. Also like it recommends people to try to house together. I think that author attends the shows around me. I dont think I have ever seen CBB animals at his table though, mainly WC.

In the offtopic section, i htink we had a member thinking of reporting him to the expo officials because the health of the animals seemed to be subpar.

Nice to see them in the spotlight, seems like a decent caresheet. I agree with Brad about keeping them together - it does seem like it would lead to misinterpretation.

If you go to the author's website, he has pics of his animals. Only 6 BTS, two Northerns, two IJs a tanny and a Merauke that is called an Indonesian. Says he has been breeding since 2001, but lists both Northerns and both IJs as females and the tanny and Merauke as male. :noknow:

He said that page hasn't been updated in a couple of years, he has more skinks. He knows that the Merauke is a Merauke and not a Indonesian. He said he breeds the Merauke with IJ's and other IJ's to IJ's.
