Messy Eater

Postby Katrina » Thu Oct 27, 2011 5:20 pm

I have posted several times before about feeding eggs - my sister has a couple bantam chickens which lay mini eggs and so she send a bunch in every few months for the lizards. It is fun because they are about half the size of a large chicken egg, so probably around the size of eggs they might stumble upon in the wild. It amazes me how all of them know what the white object is instantly and crack it easily - I feed the egg in an empty water dish so that it is easy to clean, it doesn't get substrate in it and they can roll it against the side to crack it.

Anyway, this time Rollie decided to somehow pick the egg up without cracking it, move it over to his basking spot and crack and eat it there. No idea how he got it out of the water dish and moved it without cracking it. He made a nice, gooey mess and got egg all over his face.
