A question about All-Glass Tanks

Postby WanderingChai » Thu Oct 27, 2011 6:26 am

Tea cup has one of these, and I have an idea of why they are not ideal(insecurity), but what can I do to make her tank pleasurable for her?
She has three hides as well as a toilet paper tube that goes under her basking rock that she uses. Is there any way I can make her more secure, while still looking "pretty"? Looking pretty is not a huge deal, but I like my enclosures to look nice.

You could pic up some neat back ground pics from a pet store (usally way over prices though) Ive printed them off the interntet, or gone to a printing store to get them large enough.

They have these foam back grounds that look like rocks, mostly used for gecko cages, but Ive seen pretty big ones at reptile expos before.

Buy some nice fabric from frabricland (Or somethign equivalent in Newyork)

Thats all I can really think of...
You can buy artifical leaves from a dollar store/ craft store and you could eithor make a craft by glueing them to a board long enough to fit the tank, or you could put them along the wall so not only can teacup play in them, they act as a covering to the glass

All 5 of my skinks have all glass tanks and they love looking out of them. 2 of them face an outside windows and I've caught them many times looking outside at the world.

I like to cover 2-3 sides of the tank for a reptile.

I haven't had any problems as of yet with mine. I've caught her staring out one of the sides on more than one occassion. :D

Thanks for all of the replies! I think I'll see if she likes to have all the sides covered(she shares a room with my cats, and she likes looking at them :P) and if not I'll stop.
Thanks again!
