if he is near shed then it might just be a period where he doesnt feel like basking much.
double check the temps. also the cold side.
other than that, wait for everyone else to answer. i cannot give any good advice about this really

Because His tank cant keep humidity very well. It might not get much smaller. I was going to make it , but ive been looking on kijiji and they have some nice huge tanks. I found one for a tegu that is.. bigger then this one.. lol But it has all the lights set up and heat and everything. His current tank is 6L X 3W X 5 feet tall Its too tall and There is mesh on the upper half, so That where all the humidy goes (This used to be an Iguana cage)

Like 5 foot long instead of 6 foot. But I was going to drop the roof because its too high and thats where all the moisture is going out off. I was also going to put plexy on the sides uposed to the vynal thats there now. The vynal is there to cover the mesh that it was originally made out so It could hold the humidity better. When he had cocohusk as his substrate it would hold humidty fine, but now that ive had to just us paper because of the worms, its harder to keep the humidity in there.
