Fluke X Wasp Babies - First Shed Photos

Postby Fatal_S » Sat Sep 17, 2011 1:35 pm

I just took some outside pictures of my second litter, so I figured I better share. There wasn't much sun, so I'll have to get more pictures on a nicer day. These guys will be ready to go to their new homes next weekend, so I'm spending lots of time cuddling them :)

  Oh, sigh. I hope some day (SOON!) I will have room for (LOTS) more BTS.

I LOVE the little chunkers. I think baby MX is my favorite, and I would call him Q-Tip. The patterns look just like Q-Tips!

MX is going to make someone a very awesome pet. He's a total sweety; very curious and loving. Others, like QD, will need a more experienced owner to deal with his hissy-fits and routine escape attempts.

TP is very different compared to his siblings. Mom thinks he looks disproportionate. I can't wait to see what he looks like when he's grown up, and how big he gets. Anyone know of other breeders who've had odd-looking runts?

They look great Melanie! I love them all. My only advice is, don't put too much stock into their adult personalities/temperments based on their baby behavior. How they behave as babies/juveniles often has very little correlation with how they are as adults.

Thanks Jeff. How's your little keeper doing?

I was thinking more of the first few weeks rather than their adult personalities. Some of the babies are much calmer and I'll feel a bit better sending them to newbie homes (especially the older skinks). Adult personality will change drastically of course, but those first few weeks seem to be the most harrowing for new owners.

Just send those little problem skinkers my way when you ship Baby Z. I promise I won't mind!

Just gonna ask, are they Northerns or Easterns?
Cute babies anyway!

Plimpy, these are Northerns. TP does look a bit odd, but they're all as Northern as Northern can get.

Coomassie, thanks :) My mom loves TP (will actually interact without me being there) so he's got a forever home here. I'm very curious to see how he grows up. I'm kindof expecting him to grow into a totally normal Northern adult (full size, classic look), but I suppose it's a wait-and-see thing.

How are the babies doing? Have you found homes for all of them yet? I have really enjoyed having the little ones around the house. Most of them are gone now - just have three left. I've been trying to find placement for them locally because NO ONE around here seems to have any and I'd like to get a bluey population built up in the area a bit. Its so interesting to see the different patterns that come out of one littler. Keep us posted if you still have them.
