It looks like she is going to be incredible! I can't wait to see the pictures when she finishes. I was not aware that they don't show their colors at all until after a couple sheds, until I saw it this year with my coastal baby. It is amazing how they look like a completely different lizard after a shed.

I don't remember when yours was born? How many sheds has she had before this one?

Thanks Jeff, I'm a bit surprised too. She went from being almost black at birth to a light peach colour now. This is her second shed - now weighs 232grams.

Absolutely awesome! It was the second shed when my little girl popped too. She is right about the same weight too. This is great information to know. When was yours born?

She is unbelievable!

Awesome! Thanks. My girl is only two months old, but there is a huge difference between Goldfields and other rugosa. I feel like I have learned a LOT from your baby and mine.

I am most surprised by them being born so close together even though they are in opposite hemispheres.

It was an unusual wet and cool summer followed by a dry cool Autumn over here this year. I'd usually expect babies in March so they were quite late. I spoke to other keepers who had the same to report - very late births with low numbers produced.

In the wild I guess it would make sense for them to hold on until the Autumn rain kicks in as there is not much to eat or drink before then.
