Should I take my skink to a herp vet?????
So marvin JUST finnished his shed (he looks so PRETTY!!!!). But the new problem is his crooked and bent and missing as well as some ''extra'' toes. the skink on his toes have comle up off of the toes causeing it to look like he has another toe only there like 1-4 mm long). I'm worried because he pulled ANOTHER toe off with this shed thats almost 4-5 toes now:'( I've talked to an old vet tech and he said that it could possibly be a vitamin problem of him not having enough of them. But I JUST got him so i'm now scared as he's my FIRST herp. And my FIRST skink EVER.

These problems took a while to happen and won't be corrected overnight. You need to give it time. Check over the toe loss thread in the advanced section and make sure your husbandry is good. Paper towel and very clean, simple furnishings would be best right now. Try to moisturize either by something like emu oil or soaking in shallow, lukewarm baths. I don't think a vet will be able to do much unless there is open sores or points of infection. You will likely just need to be patient and give it time to correct the problems. Good luck!
