Postby copper » Thu Aug 11, 2011 11:25 am

i hope you aren't tired of identifying yet, i have my skink for you to id.
i've tried to decide which one do i have but can't make up my mind.
i don't know which gender she is either, so if someone is able to see that too, please enlighten me. though for me it's not a necessity to know the gender.

almost forgot, her name's Pihka!

I'm going with IJ. While I suspect some people will say "New Merauke Form" because of the legs, that trident shape on the back of the neck has always been a big tip off of IJ for me. So IJ :)

For gender I haven't the foggiest, but she's very pretty regardless.

I can't tell for sure. It looks like gigas, but it could very well be an Irian Jaya as well.

He looks somewhat similar to Adalon, though a bit darker, the stripes aren't so well defined and his legs look a lot lighter. I think it looks close to an Indonesian in terms of pattern and body shape, though the lighter legs would lean towards IJ? He's a beautiful skink none the less, congratulations on joining the skink owners club! :ohyes:

With Adalon, I know for sure his mother was a Meruake, but the father could have been an IJ since he seems to carry some similar traits. Ultimately though it doesn't truly matter unless you plan to breed; they make fine pets regardless of what species they are. :D

Here are a couple pictures of Adalon for comparison if you are interested:

edit: ok after looking at these pictures side by side I realize Adalon looks nothing like your skink, he's got too fat of a head.
• 1.0.0 Marauke (Adalon)
• 2.0.0 Western Fence lizard (Cotton, Flax)
• 1.1.0 Tokay Geckos (Cyril, Hypatia)
