Hi guys, Which wood shavings are safe to use? Is there any that I should avoid?

The caresheet says that Carefresh, Aspen, or Cypress Mulch are pretty good substrates to use. Avoid pine, cedar, or any other scented substrates. And avoid loose substrate like soil or sand to prevent impaction.
If your skink is anything like mine, it's hard for them to not get substrate in their mouth when they feed. If you're worried about them eating substrate, just feed them outside of their tank.

What species do you keep? It will vary depending on your climate somewhat, but for the Aussie species (Northerns etc) a drier substrate is typically better - aspen or similar.
If you have an indonesian species (Merauke, Indo) then I highly recommend a substrate like cypress mulch to help keep the humidity up.
