Pictures of Elliot! Eating mostly... cute! =)

Postby Musoke » Tue May 24, 2011 5:14 pm

Elliot's a piggy... no problems when it comes to eating!

I think he's cute when he eats... he gets so excited.
Here are some pictures for you!
(Bumps, scoops, and deformities in his body are the results of having MBD before I got him... he's all better now but still looks a little messed up!)

Image
FOOD PLEASE.
He pushes his wooden bowl around and picks it up when he's asking for food. Maybe I can get a video one day, it's really cute! He's just sitting and waiting around in this picture.

Image
Taste it first... this better be good.

Image
"AW YEAH THIS IS THE GOOD STUFF!"

Image
Lickin' the choppers.

Image
Looking intelligent.

Image
Okay, I know, this is getting repetitive.

Image
You can see his leg here. Both front are like that- if you pinch them you can feel the bone is curves C-shape. He can't straighten his legs all the way. :(

I love him!! He likes hoodies quite a bit... if I lay him on m chest he always without a doubt climbs up on my shoulder and looks for my hoodie! I teach an art class and he comes with me in my hood sometimes if it's warm enough out. The kids love him and he likes to poke his head out to flick his tongue! =)

He's my silly little buddy. He can't seem to decide how he wants his tank's layout, so he just moves all the plants around when he feels like it.

Anyway, I hope you like the pictures. XD

Took those pictures yesterday, and I believe it was dandilion greens, kale, celery, cucumber, tomato, carrot, bean sprouts, mango, one raspberry, and some Wellness chicken dog food with a bit of calcium/d3 on top that time.
I know that's alot of stuff, but I have fun making his meals! Only have one skink. Can you tell?

I do the same thing!! I keep making way too much food, but when the BF teases me I just tell him I need more skinks to feed. :innocent:

He is looking great, much shinier and more filled out than before. So glad that he got a happy home. :D

Yumm. I use the wellness cat food. Only because it comes in smaller containers and I feed Ruckus every week.
You should check out the Diet chart on the newbies link. (If you havent already) It showss whats best for your little bluey to eat, and what will help with his calcium intake, but it looks like youve got it down pat. Im not sure that they can have tomatos though..Or they can rarly have them.
I could be wrong though

Most anything is fine in moderation (with the exception of avocado, rhubarb - the toxic to reptiles ones!). Some foods aren't the healthiest (tomatoes would fall in this category, as would celery and a ton of others). Just because they aren't super healthy doesn't mean not to feed them - just don't make them a staple part of the diet. What I do with foods like these is toss them in the mix when I have them on hand and have time to chop them up. So almost every meal will have one or two of these 'feed occasionally' foods, I just mix up which ones I give them. If I have tomatoes and cucumber, then a small amount of each will be mixed in and then I won't feed those two for several feedings. I think variety is great and every food has something to offer - but there are some that are better than others and should be fed more.

Kind of the same as fruit - I feed no more than 10% and only as a treat. Some fruits have good nutritional qualities to them, but they are mostly a sweet treat that is generally high in phosphorus.

Very true. Tomatos probably have a source of water aswel, like the cucs.
Ruckus' favorite fruit is bananas, wich are high in phosperous. He only gets some if there are any in the house.

Which wellness food is your favorite? Ruckus doesnt like the turkey ones.

Thanks for the tip- but don't worry! I researched for almost a year before getting Elliot. He gets a veriety... that's just what he had last time I fed him! =)

I'm glad you can see a difference. He's gotten alot bigger since I got him, too. He was already nearly a year old when I got him and he's grown inches in the months he was home!

Elliot likes bananas, too... his favorites are cooked plain chicken, blueberries, and raspberries.
...But to be honest, he's not picky. X]
