You can leave him in the water for 20-40 mins - it usually takes at least 20 mins to start to loosen the shed. After that long it should come off fairly easily, if you rub gently. If it isn't coming off easily, just keep repeating.

What does him enclosure look like? I find scratchy stuff like driftwood for them to climb on does wonders for getting the shed off their feet. :D

really, that long!, i always just put him in for no longer than 10 mins cause i know hes not too comfortable in it. hes always rubbing on rocks, and i also have a piece of cork bark in the tank but smooth side up. Im going to flip so he climbs on the rough side. thanks alot, ill soak him for a good 20 mins tomorrow since he wakes up from burrowing every other day lol.

i know his enclosures small, dont worry its just a growout. Im in the process of building a custom one :ohyes:

btw the thermometer is measuring the temp outside the tank, thats close to his ambient temp

You can't tell the enclosure is small, because he is so teeny tiny in it! :D

Looking good, when you have more room in a larger enclosure you can add more stuff like slate or driftwood. And if he seems to always have issues with shedding on his feet, you can look into adding a humid hide or switching to a moister substrate. But for right now a long bath in lukewarm water that just covers his feet should fix the problem! :D

I dampen the feet, and then gently pick off the toe shed with my fingernails...just be careful because those little toes are awful delicate. :)
