I'm deciding which one is worse: 7 months of "Pregnancy Updates" or no CBB Meraukes in the US

Well, maybe one person does!
Edit: I guess since she mated that is a confirmation that she is not gravid

It makes the chances very unlikely, from what I understand.

No, I have it pretty much down.. all my questions are answered.. so I'm ready! And this time she has a confirmed breeding (2 of them!), so that will cut out that.. before it was just a guessing game.

Even with matings theres no gaurantees, but it does put the odds more in your favour

On the posative the timing seems right season wise, none of that wet season breeding rot anyways, lol

Follow the basics, the more away from that you go the less success you will have

Hasn't anybody tried mating their Meraukes in Nov before? I'm baffled that all of a sudden 3 (possibly 4) other people have recorded matings in the US on my 3rd year in a row of mating mine in Nov. Or is it that others have recorded matings in Nov, but they just haven't been successful? (Other than for the handful who have housed their Meraukes together.)

I would have tried back in November....... if I even had Meraukes back then!! :(

What's funny, we all have different climates, too. That is so weird, isn't it? They are supposed to be hard to even get mating, much less possibly 4 people in 2 days!

Lol. Gee, I never would have thought to try that!

There was some pretty vicious fighting. These indos are not nice animals. I just don't think the females are ready yet. I'll update if/when I get some copulations.

Don't the indos have a slightly different range than the Meraukes? If the weather is different enough in their ranges, the indos' mating window may be slightly different than that of the Meraukes.

I'm actually researching it now! Hold on. (their breeding window should still be exactly the same, though)

Well, yes, I do understand that not everyone has tried to breed Meraukes before this year; I was more directing my questions to those who may have tried, or may have info from others who have tried before...

The Wewak region Indonesians (the ones we should not be legally keeping) 78 degrees all year. They have consistent temperatures, so it would be COMPLETELY up to humidity.

The Sorong region Indonesians have a better temperature variation. 76-74 during the summer, 71 to 68 during the winter.

The Amahai region Indonesians also have a good temperature variation. 78-80 during the summer, 70-67 during the winter.

The Halmahera region Indonesians ALSO have a good temperature variation. 82-84 during the summmer, 74-73 during the winter.

The Merauke region Meraukes are between 77-80 during the summer 66-73 during the winter.

I tried my old group, but I cycled them just like you would with a northern and paired in spring.

The Irian jayas started trying to breed before the meraukes did, my thought was weather hitting at different times. We'll see! It hasn't even gotten really cold here yet.

Dakota, the female wasn't consenting, :shake: it was a rape.

But she sure seemed lewd :hubba:
