How long does it take them to settle down and realize you aren't going to eat them?

When did yours mate scott,mine were first week of dec starters,outdoors ones anyways

Oddly with mine they still generally drop mid to late march no matter when they breed,ive had as early as late september early oct matings,mid march dropping early nov and early dec mid to late march dropping,last season i got some mid feb,those hot day spells i assume pushed them along

The lowlands often wait till april,some years i have to bring them indoors to drop as weathers already cooling and they have gone off food a bit

The old "degree day" concept, that is the amount of time that temp is likely to be in the range to support foetal growth is greater here than in mornington. As per Colin Hamilton in Western Sydney, were generally born in November/dec.

Helikaon's blotchies spat babies out before Xmas. Definitely ambient temps make a difference.

JB had babies out of his tassie blotchies very early in the new year as well.

Both of these guys are in south East Queensland btw.

Yep they had babies when my girls still had freshish mating scars,lol

Here is one of my breeding males for what it is worth he is a beautiful reddish pink colour but comes out orange in these photos. Very frustrating.

Some of these have orange tinges which will probably end up being bright orange. Most with the light blotches have reddish heads - a give away for the pinkish pigments.

Most of the really light blotched ones will be pink to dark pink, some will turn yellowish.

It is interesting to me that some that start off life as lesserlights end up being beautiful adults, some vise versa. I find that some that have relatively dirty looking blotches which become clear and colourful when mature. I have some examples of this that I can post pictures of.

Oh no! I'm so sorry. What do you think happened?

Not sure but the same female has had some stillborn babies for the last 2 years. This one would have been over 50grams, last year she had a stillborn that would have been over 70grams. We had some very hot periods in both years during the pregnancy so I suspect overheating again.

Hoping not to see that again with mine this season,havnt had long spells of hot weather like last season so fingers crossed

Scott do u think the female retained that one after her litter,one of mine spat out a still born 2 weeks after her litter last season,mind u i think she had stillborns then to as she was huge and i only found one good baby and one that a cunningham skink was trying to unsuccessfully consume
