Re: Species ID
Yes, he looks just like all the recent Meraukes.
Thicker, wider bands that what some would call 'classic Merauke', but he is a nice Merauke.

Re: Species ID
Thanks guys! He's so funny, he comes out of his hide and walks around, andscratches at the front of his viv, but only if I talk to him! It makes me want to take him out so badly but I know better. He is eating, drinkink, and pooping well, so I'm glad about that!

If you're comfortable with it and he isn't nippy you can feed by hand occasionally. If he lunges at your finger, use a dish or feeding tongs. Just use your judgement! From my experience, Meraukes are pretty easy to hand feed and Northerns are very bitey - but ever skink is different.

Re: Species ID
I hand feed fruits. Offered a bite of dog food once, that of course smeared on my finger and got bit that way. Oops. Lesson learned.
If he's afraid of your hand, just set the treat down and back off.
It's an art, not an exact science.

Re: Species ID
Fruit should probably only be fed as treats, not as part of the staple diet.

Like Sapphire said, have a read of the diet chart. I'd been greens / veggies / protein at every meal and fruit only as occasional treats.

Re: Species ID
That does make sense, I'll change that up! Sadly we live in a world of trial and error.
