I hope that the one I hope its a female, will not be a male also.

Magnificent animals you have
Als je straks jonkies hebt wil ik wel ruilen met Meraukes maar ik denk dat je keihard in de lach schiet

That new male looks great Fred. Good condition and love the nice solid banding. I hope you have some luck with breeding him this year

I'm not normally a shingleback type of girl but those pictures are beautiful, I might have to change my mind about shinglebacks!

Breeding time is over now, I did not see them breeding but when you look at the pictures from the female you see that the male atleast give it a good try.LOL

Looking good Fred! One of my girls got kind of scuffed up this year too. The strange thing is that I saw the male biting her on the shoulder a few times and there are no marks at all there. All the damage is in spots that I never saw anything happen.

Re: T. rugosa rugosa
i noticed with my asperas that before males actually started trying to mate, read the week or two before first copulations the males just grabbed at females and sat there holding them, very gently, usually in mid section, females would just walk off resulting in breaking free from males jaws pretty easily
no chasing to secure, lots of chrcking the female out then a slow grab, after a week or so it changed to pursuits and male holding on better in shoulder region, easy to miss if you arent watching them all the time, the scuff marks are a promising sign fred, takes a bit of effort scuffing rugosas scales
