Liopholis striata(formerly Egernia)
Most people call them Night Skinks but I really like their other common name, Eliptical eyed skinks.
They are one of my favs in my collection.

Fingers crossed,this is my 2nd proper attempt,shes bulked up but hasnt been an overly huge eater this season,time will tell i guess

Sorry Richard, I don't have any data on gestation period. I never observed the mating and I didn't keep a date on when I noticed the shoulder marks.

This girl only ended up having four over a two day period. That is presuming that she has finished popping them out, its been +24hours since number 4 came out.

They look great rory,female still looks to have decent weight so you never know,they look like solid babies

Great photos!
It amazes me how they manage to have so many babies 'in there'. When you gather new born skinks in your hand and then look at mum, you wonder how she fitted them all in.

Real crackers. Looks like you need to separate the big one - its getting all the food!

Maybe one day I will have a nice little group of westerns....

The big one has been on its own for awhile now. The other three still live together.

Looking great RoryB. I will be interested to see if the big one ends up being a different gender than the other 3. Probably too much to hope for, but it would be great if the genders grew so differently.

Jeff i raised 4 sa westerns of both sexes and growth was similar over 5 years,rorys big one just loves it tucker more

The larger one eats like a northern, I would be much happier if the other three did the same.
