I am sorry to hear that Dakota, you have my condolences. From what I've seen of how you care for your reptiles, I am sure she had a very good life. By keeping with reptiles despite her death, the memory of her will always be with you. I was absolutely distraught when one of our budgerigars passed some years ago (I don't keep them anymore), and I was never as attached to them as I am to my reptiles. I even went into a bit of a funk when our cat went to the vet two days ago, she seemed ill but not overly life threatening. She is fine now, but she had eaten a chicken bone stolen from the kitchen bin (she's a dumpster diver - I didn't secure the bone in plastic bags) which was passed with the help of some laxatives. Apologies, I do not often offer condolences, if my words are awkward and I hope they are not, I mean no offence.

That was an angry shot of Ema? I assumed he was just licking his lips and you had taken the picture at an opportune time, and labled it angry because he sort of does look like a grumpy grinch in that picture. Why was he angry?

All of your pictures are nice! To get even a few nice shots the 4GB SD card in our camera usually gets filled.

My friend's tegu goes absolutely insane when she is outside. She is only about two feet long right now, but it will not be fun when she is 4 or 5.

Yeah, she was pretty much my life.. like losing a best friend. But you live on, I guess. She got an unnoticed RI (It was my ignorance by following the brumation steps in the caresheet.. not knowing it was for only Northerns!) I didn't even know "T. gigas" existed until the beginning of last year, but I did not know they were pretty much a tropical until early this year.. that is why I wished I would have came on the forum before I did.. it would have saved her life. I was brumating her for a male that was listed under "Hypo Reduced Northern" that was listed on faunaclassifieds, but I knew he was just an IJ, so by the time he got here, I would be breeding.. but that went down the drain.. and when I DID get my first breeding it brought back a lot of memories (why I was almost in tears, lol).

And yes, he was quite angry.. not often to see him angry like that, so I HAD to get a bunch of photos, hehe. I woke him up a bit early, and he didn't like the big camera in his face, so he was huffing up a storm.. and doing those wide tongue flick, not quite a tongue "flash", but really spread out, and just flicking a tad bit slower.

I'm not sure what GB my card is, but I have to copy the files to a folder and then delete them from the card every couple months.. and I know the file size for my photos are HUGE..

You should have seen London when I took him outside the first time.. WOW.. I thought I almost lost him. I had to grab him around the hip area, so I was lucky he didn't drop his tail! Or even bite me! My skinks are so weird.. like Hunter and Virginia do not like going outside or even explore my house.. I have to carry them on my should. London hates outside, but explores the house from time to time.. he loves to sit on my should and look behind me as I walk. Ema and Xaunder pretty much do not care, really.. they like to go anywhere. Xaunder usually sits and stares, while Ema likes to investigate. Maxx likes it outside as long as he is able to retreat under my legs when a bird passes or something.. I'm like his mommy it is super cute.. I'm his protector, but in actuality he probably is just going to the nearest hide spot, lol.

So sorry for your loss, Dakota. In the last 1.5 years, my husband and I have lost our 20 year old boa (his very first snake), our blue tegu, and in October I lost my beardie (my very first lizard and my little princess). All their deaths hit us so hard. It doesn't matter how old you are or how pragmatic, when you have animals in your life, it always hurts to see them go.

Your current collection is just lovely, I must say! All your skinks are so handsome.

Believe it or not, their base color are exactly the same (okay, maybe a shade or two away), just the difference in vividness in the colors in bands, makes it seem a lot different. I thought that was pretty cool.
