Okay! So it went pretty well.

I also told the vet about my concerns of him having URI, because yesterday night he seemed to foam a little on one side of his mouth. Today was a little worse with the bubbling. I posted a picture of him in his little basket on the way to the vet, you can see the foam bubble.

So the vet said that he feels that he had trauma to that eye and he's having a slow time healing OR there could be a really early sign of an abscess. But he doubts this a little when he tested his eyes, he said when you gently push in their eye, the eye should be able to sink in a little. If there was an abscess behind the eye, he wouldn't be able to push it back like the normal healthy skink eye. There's also some tiny red dots on the top of his head, he thinks that could be a sign of vasculitis.
He tested him for the URI, which came out okay. He has some bacteria, but not typical with an URI.
He prescribed Baytril and it to be used once a day for 10 days. If it's an really early sign of an abscess this might clear it up completely before it gets worse. Also if he really does have an URI this will take care of it as well. He told me to call him and let him know if he gets better, if he's getting better but not real fast then he'll give me more of the baytril to see if him being on it longer will help.
I feel pretty hopeful that he's going to be okay, since he's very alert and active and just a typical bluey. :)
Since he did super well at the vet, he got to watch out the window on the way home, he seems to really enjoy watching everything go by lol!

Also wanted to add that Shorty weighs a little over 1 kilo. That seems kinda heavy, I heard that they are usually between 10-18 ounces. Basically .2 to .5 kilo.

If the vet suspects the possibility of a retrobulbar abscess and the eye protrusion doesn't subside with Baytril could you ask about changing the abx to metronidazole (Flagyl). It has better efficacy with anaerobic bacteria.

1 kilo for a Northern is on the heavier side, but your skink looks to be a healthy weight. Some are just bigger than others.
